Project Description:
Jyrotop is a health-focused community app that motivates users to walk more and maintain healthy habits. The client came with an existing iOS app built by a previous vendor, but performance issues and UI quality were holding growth back.
Our task was twofold: redesign the iOS UI for clarity and speed, and build a full-featured Android app to expand reach.
Process
We started with a focused audit of the iOS app, profiling rendering, navigation, and data flows to locate bottlenecks in onboarding, activity tracking, and the feed. Using these insights, we simplified the information architecture, reduced taps, and clarified progress cues, then optimized performance via leaner network calls, smarter caching, and faster startup.
In parallel, we built a native Android app with feature parity and a shared visual language to ensure consistency. We wrapped with store builds, release notes, and monitoring for a clean rollout and data-driven iteration.
Results
The client received a cleaner, faster iOS experience and a production-ready Android app that expanded the audience beyond iOS. Users experienced smoother interactions and clearer feedback on walking progress, driving higher satisfaction and engagement.
The product now sits on a maintainable codebase and consistent cross-platform design system, fixing what the previous vendor couldn’t and laying a solid foundation for growth.
