Project Description:
DuoSono is a Polish startup that turned a patented dog-training method into a consumer IoT product: a Flutter mobile app, the myFelo smart speaker, backend services, and training algorithms for anxiety reduction.
The product helps owners run guided daily programs for sound habituation and separation anxiety. The app handles dog onboarding, household access, stress-response education, session planning, reminders, progress tracking, and controlled audio playback from the physical speaker.

Process
We started from discovery around flows, data structures, hardware assumptions, and the patented training logic. The first goal was to make complex behaviorist methodology feel simple enough for daily home use while keeping the rules precise for long training cycles.
The delivery covered mobile UX, Flutter development for iOS and Android, backend persistence, localization, and a custom Bluetooth Low Energy protocol for the ESP32 speaker. The app exchanged device state, speaker identity, sound selection, playback status, and volume commands while respecting offline and battery constraints.
A major part of the work was low-level coordination with the hardware and firmware partner. Direct engineer-to-engineer communication helped stabilize pairing, cross-platform device identification, speaker status packets, and test scenarios as the physical device evolved.

Results
Appear Digital delivered the full operating layer for the product and handed it over to the client team: app codebase, backend setup, protocol documentation, infrastructure notes, and algorithm references.
Across the engagement the product grew into a live, transferable system with English and Polish localization, a 380-breed onboarding dataset, two production training programs, four algorithm iterations, 60+ screens, and a tested path for hardware-backed daily sessions.
